Vices Remix

I was asked by Carnelian Music to design and animate a lyric video for Bladerunner's remix of their song 'Vices.' It was a quick project, requiring 4 minutes of animation, so I decided to use a vector bank to meet the tight deadline instead of designing everything from scratch.

I was provided with the single's cover and the label's logo (see at the bottom of the page). I based the illustration style for the verses on the single’s cover, opting for a doodle look and ensuring the overall video had a hand-drawn feel.

I aimed to highlight the contrast between the calm, lyric-focused verses and the heavier, instrumental choruses. The verses use Carnelian's primary brand colors—black, white, and red—with a focus on the lyrics. In contrast, the choruses are vibrant and psychedelic, incorporating Carnelian red to maintain a harmonious look throughout the video.
